Books for the holidays
Looking for the perfect holiday gift? Share the joy of reading with the children in your life. When selecting a book, consider your child’s interests. A good nonfiction title about their pet, cooking, science experiments, a place they want to visit, origami or wherever their interest lies is always a good choice. And you can’t go wrong with a chapter book to read during the cold, rainy weather. This year the students seem to all be reading Star Wars books, the newest Wimpy Kid book and the titles nominated for Washington State’s Sasquatch Award http://www.wlma.org/sasquatch. And you can’t go wrong with a Guinness Book of World Records or a 2015 Almanac. Magazines are also a good choice. Some popular titles include National Geographic for Little Kids, Zoo Books and Kids Discover. There are several good bookstores in our area including King’s Books, University of Washington Tacoma bookstore, Half Price Books and Barnes & Noble in Lakewood. If you opt to order online from Amazon.com, remember to go through Geiger Homepage link www.tacoma.k12.wa.us/sites/schools/geiger/
Happy Reading!
