Nutmeg Book Reading Program
2nd-5th grade students
Are you looking for a great book to suggest to your 2nd-5th grade reader? Try a Nutmeg Book!
What is the Nutmeg Book Award?
The Nutmeg Book Award program encourages students across the state of Connecticut to read high quality literature. Each year the Nutmeg committee nominates books in both the elementary (grades 2-4) and intermediate (grades 4-6) reading categories and asks students to vote on their favorite nominee at the end of April.
At Stratfield, we have challenged students in grades 2-5 to read at least 3 of these titles in order to cast their vote in the library at the end of April.
We have been reading some of these awesome books to students in our classrooms and during Library Learning Time, and we are encouraging students to pick up a Nutmeg book (or two) for themselves. If you are looking for a book suggestion for your child, check out the Nutmeg Nominees listed below. Copies of these books are available in the Stratfield Library and all branches of the Fairfield Public Library. Happy Reading!
