CGS Weekly Message
8/21/23-8/25/23
Good afternoon,
This is our last week before our first Academic Break! Our students have done a fantastic job of getting into a daily routine and working hard. Parents, please take a moment to review your child's progress report to ensure they are progressing well so far this school year. Mrs. Nina has been working as fast as possible at resetting PowerSchool passwords and getting new families/students registered to view your student's work. Please be patient and let her know if you are still having issues resolving your log in information.
Progress Reports for High School went home on Friday afternoon. Progress Reports for K-8 will go home this Friday.
Reminder that Friday, 8/25/23 is a Half Day with dismissal at 11:45 A.M. for our K-8 Campus and dismissal at 12:00 P.M. for our High School Campus.
We hope that everyone enjoys their break! Reminder that school is closed during academic break. We hope that everyone rests and rejuvenates so we can return after the Labor Day holiday and hit the ground running for the remainder of the 1st 9 weeks. Thanks!
Parents, just a heads up that we will be practicing a lock down drill procedure at both of our campuses this week. This is a safety drill to ensure our students are prepared in the case of an active shooter on campus. Thank you for supporting our students at home by explaining "why" we do these types of drills and why their safety is of upmost importance for us at CGS.

Classroom Engagement
Shout out to our High School Spanish Teacher, Ms. Whited! Ms. Whited is a fantastic spanish teacher and our students are learning new content each and every day. Any time you pop into Ms. Whited's classroom, students are engaged in learning, singing, or speaking in Spanish. Keep up the great work Ms. Whited!
Shout out to Mr. Cheek who is one of our High School Math Teachers! Mr. Cheek doesn't waste any instructional time and students know that as soon as they enter his classroom, the work begins! His students are highly motivated, engaged, and focused on Mr. Cheek's instruction. Students know that Mr. Cheek means business! His classroom is full of daily instruction and learning and our students love him! Keep up the great work!
Shout out to Mr. Fremont, our 4th grade math teacher! Mr. Fremont used our common area on our K-8 campus last week to do a measuring activity with his students. Students were following along, engaged, and working together in a peer/small group setting to complete the interactive assignment. Keep up the great learning activities Mr. Fremont!
Daily Operations Reminders: K-8 Campus
Shout Out to our Parents…We see and Appreciate you and your efforts to help us make CGS the BEST!
Car Rider lines Continue to improve! Woop Woop! Thank you for filling in the gaps at the cones. IT’s so important that we move efficiently during the boarding and unloading process, especially in the morings. This allows us to maximize instruction for our students. #EveryMinuteCounts
We have had quite a few parents to reach out for and fulfill volunteering opportunities…Thank You!
Please continue to check-in for opportunities!
Please continue to be mindful of the following:
- All students should be dropped off and picked up utilizing one of our car rider lines. No students should be dropped off in the front parking lot unless cleared by administration.
- For all lines, morning and afternoon: All cars should pull down to the farthest/last cone…there should be no gaps in lines. This allows us to be efficient & timely as the instructional day begins at 7:45am.
- Students should get out of and in cars sidewalk-side of the car for safety purposes and parents should remain in the car.
- Upon arrival at the cone, student(s) should be ready and prepared to get out of the car with all of their belongings for the day. *Once you hit the gravel of the driveway, students should start preparing, packing and gathering belongings so they can hop out at the cone.

FAQ Feedback Form Submissions for 8-20-23
Is there an update on when hot lunches will be available at the Integrity campus?
- We hope to start this program this week! See information below!
Issues in after-school care yes the teachers do the best they can but adding help would be great bc alot of issues seem to happen more in after school for varies reason and there needs to be more eyes out there and cameras would be great added on the playground !!
- Additional hands are always needed! Our after school program is unique in the way that it houses all of our students that need it in grades K-8. This is a lot of different aged students all together in our After School area. Our amazing after school ladies do a great job but we agree that additional help is needed. We've had at least four high school students start working in our after school care. We hope these students will offer much needed assistance, eyes, and supervision for our students. Agreed- I'd love more cameras outside!
When will the lunch program for the high school students be available?
- We are hoping this week! See information below!
Where is the information about volunteer opportunities? How do parents find out the opportunities ? There was a cleanup recently, who puts out that information?
- Volunteering opportunities will be made available in the Sunday message but also on our school's Facebook page, etc. The clean up recently was completely student/parent initiated! If you look around school while you're sitting in the car rider line and see areas in which you'd like to improve our campus, all you have to do is talk to admin! We will happily accept assistance, etc. when it comes to the overall beautification of our school campus.
- Our school's PTT organization also has a building/grounds committee that will be getting started this school year on those type of activities as well.
Are the high school kids going to be able to pre-order lunch at school?
- We hope so, see information below!
Is it possible to list on the lunch menu where everything comes from like you used to? It’d be nice to know if the meals are from the same places this year or have changed (ie the subs last week were different from the Subway subs last year).
- We apologize for the confusion. Due to price increases, the only vendors we are using at this time for our K-8 cafe will be from Danny's Restaurant in Burlington, and from CiCi's Pizza. All other vendors were above the $6 hot lunch price point. We hope to bring others back later this school year (or next) if we can agree on affordable pricing options for our families with the vendors we used to use.
When will the 2024/2025 calendar be posted?
- This wasn't presented/approved at the August Board meeting but will be presented in the September one. We apologize for the delay!
My 2nd grader had a get-to-know-you assignment and to the question, “what do you want to be when you grow up?”, she wrote, “a teacher at clover garden”! Keep up the inspiring work CGS!
- Thank you so much for submitting this!! Our teachers are the BEST!! : )

Mental Health Survey 23-24
Parents, we are actively looking into options for our students this school year regarding Mental Health Services. If you are interested or are in need of mental health/counseling type services for your student(s), please fill out the survey below.
We are working together in partnership with licensed clinical social workers and local hospitals/mental and behavioral health centers together on ways to help support our students.
This new process will involve billing students' insurances for mental health services. If your student doesn't have insurance, please note that on the form. Any and all students, regardless of insurances will get the support they need this school year.
Please fill out the survey below for your student and administration will be in touch with more information regarding your survey information soon.
