Dear Parents,

Thank you so much to all of the parent volunteers that made Valentine’s Day parties a fun experience for our Rose students. Students celebrated friendship and fun on this special day with classmates. We appreciate your creativity and festive spirit!

I hope your families enjoy the extra time this weekend and find time to relax and enjoy special moments together. Some of the weeks are so filled with activities and busy schedules that it is nice to unwind and reconnect as a family without following the same demands of the busy weekly schedule! (NO SCHOOL, Feb. 18 & 21)

News to Note:

  • Congratulations - Derrick G. won the USTA 12&U Level 6 tournament in Wisconsin last Saturday and Sunday. It was his first challenge to the Level 6 and he beat the first seed in the finals.

  • COVID Updates - We have 1 positive student COVID case reported at Rose School this week and 2 students in quarantine. We have 1 positive staff case to report. If you have additional questions about positive cases and quarantines, you can also check the district COVID Dashboard for up-to-date district COVID information.

  • Essentials Survey - Please click here to read about the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. The access link to take the survey is included in the letter. Your participation and feedback is valued and appreciated.
  • Rose Committed Week - Next week is Rose Committed Week which is all about healthy living. Please ask your child/ren each day what the healthy focus was for the day.
  • Tuesday, 2-22-22 is Tie Dye Twos Day (get the illiteration) - Have your child help us celebrate this once in a lifetime occurrence by wearing something tie dyed (if they have it).

Heartfelt regards,

Heather Schumacher, Principal

As we start the New Year and hopefully begin our healing from the past year (+)'s trauma of Covid and the losses associated with the virus, it is important we acknowledge the trauma many have experienced--both students and parents, recognize signs and symptoms of anxiety and stress of a traumatic stressor event, and embrace tools and techniques that will help us find balance and healing as we move forward post pandemic.

To register for the program, please complete this form. A link to the evening's presentation will be sent 24 hours ahead of the event.
