Parent/Teacher Conferences... Thank you!

Thank you to the many parents & guardians who participated in our Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences, last week! We appreciate your time and the opportunity to connect and discuss your student's progress, thus far!

10-Digit Dialing

  1. The Federal Communications Commission is reminding most Wisconsin residents that 10-digit dialing for all phone calls begins October 24. The FCC wants everyone in the 262, 414, 608, and 920 area codes to start using all ten digits when dialing someone, even when they are making local calls.

Student Portal

A short video to review to best understand how to utilize the student portal in Infinite Campus (the parent portal operates similar to what we see here).

LHS Counseling Center

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) just opened on October 1, 2021, for your senior to apply for if attending college next fall. First time filling out the FAFSA? There is free assistance available to families through College Goal Wisconsin. A College Goal Wisconsin event will be held on October 12th, at UW-Green Bay's Manitowoc campus beginning at 6 pm to assist with FAFSA completion. You must register to attend at the website provided. Students in attendance will be entered into a drawing to win a scholarship. See the link for upcoming virtual events also.

College & Career Readiness

In person college field trips are back! The first field trip is on October 26th at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. If you are interested in attending a College field trip, please fill out an online registration form. Permission Slips and Anticipated Absence forms must be filled out to attend a field trip. Any questions, please stop in the School-to-Work Office in Room 130.

Upcoming College Representatives at LHS

On Wednesday, October 6th a College Representative from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will be in the library from 9:38 am to 10:27 am. If you are interested in meeting with a College Representative, please sign up in the School-to-Work Office in Room 130. Upcoming Company Tour

A Manufacturing Bus Tour is scheduled for Thursday, October 28th. Students will have the opportunity to tour Ironwood Plastics, Skana Aluminum and WST Fab. If you are interested in registering for this bus tour, please register by accessing the College/Career Exploration Opportunities google sheet. The deadline to sign up is this Friday, October 22nd. Permission Slips and Anticipated Absence forms must be filled out to attend the field trip. Any questions, please stop in the School-to-Work Office (Room 130).

College Field Trip Opportunity

The College field trip to UW-Oshkosh on October 26th is almost full. If you registered for this field trip, please turn in your Field Trip Permission Form and Anticipated Absence Form no later than this Friday, October 22nd. Forms can be turned in/picked up in the School-to-Work Office (Room 130).

CNA Opportunity

There are still spots available in the upcoming CNA classes starting in December and January! Stop in the School-to-Work office, room 130 to learn more!

Assessments 2021-22

Juniors will participate in the Pre-ACT the week of November 1st during their Homeroom period Monday through Friday.

The Pre-ACT is the best preparatory assessment for the ACT which will be administered for all Juniors in the state of Wisconsin at the beginning of March.

The Pre-ACT is administered at no cost to students/families and provides students with information regarding strengths & weaknesses, as well as access to individually targeted practice and instructional data for teachers.
