Benfield Family Newsletter
December 14, 2021
Greetings Benfield Families!
As we slowly return to normal school operations, we are able to begin to return to some school events involving our families. At the beginning of the school year we were asked to limit any type of distractions to the classroom and school day to allow students and teacher to focus on instruction. Last week our fifth graders learned about ballroom dancing and performed, in person, for their parents. It was a great opportunity for all! Our dance team performed at Severna Park High School and wowed the audience with their dancing. Our recent Book Fair was a great success and I appreciate the parent volunteers who helped.
We will be holding our Winter Concert, in person, on January 13, 2022. We are very excited and the children have been working on learning the music to perform for their families.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact your child's teacher.
It is an amazing feeling to be able to return to some sense of normalcy!

Car Rider Line
When dropping off/picking up in the afternoon, please remember the following to help keep our line moving:
- Remind your child to be ready to get out (masks, bookbags, lunchboxes, etc).
- When at the lead, pull all the way forward, with the first car at the stop sign.
- All cars can unload/load at once from the beginning of the line to the car lined up near the media door. When we can unload/load 10-12 cars at once this helps to keep the flow moving.
- It is important for students to be independent in getting out of the car. If assistance is needed such as getting unbuckled /buckled, please pull into a parking spot to assist your child and walk them to the sidewalk at the crosswalk.
Bus Transportation
Brightspace
Pokemon or Other Types Trading Cards
Please be sure to speak to your child and make sure they do not bring these types of cards to school.
