Mrs. Wilson's Language Class

March 9-13

This Week in Class

We worked on getting our author letters drafted. We really focused on transitions, which helps our writing move smoothly from paragraph to paragraph or even our ideas move smoothly within the paragraph. We have been working on one paragraph a day so that we can really focus on putting evidence in our letter from the book or our research to back up our claims to the author. Check in with your child to see what they want to tell their author. We should be finishing these up next week. We are really hoping for our authors to write us back.

Our Comprehension article this week is titled, "Your Phone Could Ruin Your Life". We started this week listening to an audio version of the article. We then talked about listening and comprehension strategies. A lot of the students had text to self connections, which were fun to talk about.
