JANUARY UPDATES

WVEC TITLE III CONSORTIUM

Regional Planning Meetings

The dates have been set for the Regional Planning Meetings that will be held at four locations across the region. It will be very important for those of you who are needing more information on the new EL T.O.R. requirements, rubric requirements and the ELD/SIOP Train the trainer PD we will host beginning this summer. The meetings will be from 9-noon at each location. It is suggested that you bring someone from your district that is in a decision making role as these requirements could impact budgets and other important planning issues.

The agenda for the meetings is below:

  • 9:00 Introductions/networking
  • 9:15-10:15 IDOE - Update on EL T.O.R. and answer any questions you have
  • 10:15-11:00 - Tami - Provide update on coursework, the EL T.O.R. and what pieces the consortium can help with, and provide sample plans for getting your staff trained as needed.
  • 11:00-noon - Lori North and Brenda Ward, Regional EL Coaches for the Consortium, will share information on the SIOP Train the Training PD, as well as answer any questions you might have.

PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE LOCATION THAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU:

February 25 - CIESC (Indianapolis)

March 3 - NIESC (South Bend)

March 17 - WVEC (WL)

April 21 - Region 8 (Fort Wayne)

UPDATE ON COURSEWORK - EL T.O.R.

I am still working to find a university to partner with so that we can provide the graduate credits for the SIOP training, and other Title III PD. This would help us all work smarter and not harder by being able to offer graduate credits for the PD we are providing through the consortium. In addition, we have discovered that some folks will need more than one course to meet the 100 points on the EL TOR Rubric. I will be meeting with Valparaiso University this Friday, January 24th. I am very hopeful that they might be a good partner for us, and that we can do the coursework through them. We will have information regarding the coursework at the regional planning meetings.
