Dmitri Mendeleev
Born Feb.8,1834 Died Feb.2,1907
He created the extended version of the periodic table. He also formulated the Periodic law.
Mendeleev predicted the existence and properties of new chemical elements. The periodic law is the principle that the chemical properties of the elements are periodic functions of their atomic weights or, more accurately of their atomic numbers.
How he discovered the elements
As he attempted to classify the elements according to the chemical properties, he noticed patterns that led him to postulate his periodic table; he claimed to have envisioned the complete arrangement of the elements in a dream.
