Plan Ahead for the 2024-2025 School Year Scheduling
To help you prepare, below is the 2024-2025 curriculum guide. It outlines the required courses and available elective options, allowing you to plan your classes effectively. Take some time to review and consider your choices for the upcoming school year.
Important Notice: High School Attendance and Grades in PowerSchool
As we approach the end of the semester, please be aware that the high school Quick Lookup number reflects only excused and unexcused absences for your student. Absences after the winter break still count and can impact your student's final grade/GPA.
- Attendance Policy: For details, please review the policy below or view the High School Handbook.
- Medically Excused Absences: If you have absences that qualify for a medical excuse (such as a doctor, dentist, counseling, or physical therapy visits), ensure to submit a signed note by fax (616-696-4016) or in person before January 19, 2024.
- Course-Specific Queries: If you have questions about a specific class, please contact your student's teacher directly.
Your attention to attendance matters is crucial for your student's academic success.
Cedar Springs High School Attendance Policy
- The student will receive the earned grade
9-12 Absences
- Students may earn a letter grade for the semester if the following requirements are met:
- 1. The student must have a passing grade in the class AND
- 2. Receive a 78% (C+) or better on their final exam.
- If the student does not earn 78% or better on the exam but is passing the class, the student may receive credit for the class with a mark of CR, resulting in a 1.00 GPA for the class.
13 or More Absences (academic probation)
- After 13 absences, receiving the letter grade is no longer a possibility.
- The student may still receive credit for the class if the following requirements are met:
- The student must have a passing grade in the class AND
- 1. The student passes the final exam with a 78% or better.
- 2. The student may receive credit for the class with a mark of CR (resulting in a 1.00 GPA), which will negatively impact a student’s overall GPA. o If the student fails to earn 78% or better on the final exam, then they will earn no credit (NC) for the semester.
Parking Lot Permits and Checks
Students must register their vehicle to park here at the high school. This is for the safety and security of our students and staff. Permit applications are on the wall outside of the main office. Please turn in the completed application, along with $5, to the main office to get a parking permit (payment assistance is available if needed).
Second semester, we will be conducting checks for parking permits in the lot. If your vehicle does not have a visible permit, you will be issued a $10 ticket, which covers the cost of obtaining the proper permit.
Reserve Your Campus Space for Events and Activities
For the smooth organization of athletics, band performances, school extracurricular activities, or community events on our campus, reservation of spaces is crucial.
How To Reserve Space
School-Related Events: If you need a space for athletics, band, or any school-related extracurricular activity, please contact the respective head coach, teacher, or school liaison and they will make the reservation.
Community Events: For booking spaces for non-school or community events, please visit our Facilities Page and follow the steps outlined there to request a rental.
