Heart Walk
The fight against heart disease and stroke is important to Groves Elementary, which is why we are walking in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk on Nov. 3 at 8 am at LoneStar College Kingwood. Will you support our efforts to fight the nation's No. 1 and No. 5 killers - heart disease and stroke?
With your donation, we will fight for a future where a parent does not have to hear that their child has a heart defect. A future where an adult does not have to face the uncertain times ahead after receiving a diagnosis of heart disease or suffering from a stroke. A future where you and I will know that we had a part in making this possible.
The power we have together far outweighs what we can do alone. Please help us by donating today. Your generosity would mean so much to us! Please find the link to our team captain's page (Mrs. Sengele)
Thank you!

Pink out day
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed. Let's show our support for those fighting the battle, surviving the battle, and remembering those who have lost their battle.
When: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25.
Book Clubs
Dr. Peters and Mrs. McAlister are sponsoring a Book Club for our 4th and 5th grade students. As adults, when we read a good book we want to talk about it with somebody else. Students who choose to participate must also have a parent/guardian agree to read the book as well. The reading by parent/guardian and student will occur at home. Your discussions will occur at home as you proceed through the reading of the selected book. We will have a scheduled evening session here at Groves to gather all participants for discussions on the selected books.
All books have been purchased with a grant from the Humble ISD Foundation. A grant was given titled Reviving the Classics. The books are not contemporary. These may have been titles that were frequently checked out 20-30 years ago, or earlier. They are timeless in regard to continued reading and popularity.
If you are interested in participating please see Mrs. McAlister in the library for a form to choose the book.
If you have any questions please contact Mrs. McAlister @ Wendy.McAlister@humbleisd.net
