Karisa Seymour
Band Director
Dear 8th grade band students:
Our annual Middle School Band Night at Morgan County High School will be on Friday, September 23rd. Plans are to have the 8th grade band join the high school band during pre-game and play the National Anthem. Students will continue to join the high school band in the stands throughout the game and play various pep tunes that support the football team. Students are expected to return to the band block after their third quarter break. Food and drinks are not allowed in the band block. Snacks are consumed during third quarter break. Students will need to be picked up in the high school band room immediately following the game. The game usually ends around 9:45- 10:00 p.m.
Students should retrieve their instruments from the band room on Friday before school is dismissed. Tuba and baritone players will bring their instrument from the middle school, percussionist their sticks as the high school will provide an instrument for them. Students will need to bring their instruments back to school on Monday.
All 8th grade band members should wear their middle school band shirts and black pants to the game on the 23rd. If the weather dictates additional clothing, please plan to wear a black long sleeve shirt underneath the polo shirt to remain in school colors and uniform. All band members need to be in the high school band room no later than 6:00pm to prepare for the game and parents can pick up their band member from the band room immediately after the game. Parents will need to pay for their ticket at the gate ($7). Students will be admitted for free with the band (a definite perk!)

All 8th grade students are expected to be at this performance, please contact me with any questions or concerns that you might have. This is our Fall quarter summative performance.
My child will stay with the band for the entire game. They must return to the band block immediately at the end of 3rd quarter. I understand that they will not be under direct supervision during the 3rd quarter break. Concession stand items are available during the 3rd quarter break. Students will need to be picked up from the band room immediately following the game.
