From the Principal
We have a very short week ahead due to the Thanksgiving holiday. There will be a full day of school on Monday. Tuesday will be a half day of asynchronous instruction, students should check in with all of their classes at some point in the morning. There is no school Wednesday through Friday.
Parent-teacher conferences
Conferences are being held Tuesday afternoon, fo those who scheduled an appointment. The conferences are via Zoom. Please log in five minutes early using the link you obtained when you signed up. Your child's name should be recognizable from the device you are on. Feel free to use their chrome book. You will be in a virtual "waiting room" and the teacher will let you in at your conference time. Please note the conferences are five minutes each and most of the teachers are booked with back to back appointments. If you are late, there may be a need to reschedule.

News from the district
Please continue to report COVID-19 symptoms to school nurse
If your student is COVID-19 positive, has COVID-19 symptoms, or is in quarantine because they were a close contact, please email or call NURSE NAME (NURSE EMAIL NURSE PHONE). She can answer questions about next steps or contact tracing.
The ability to understand transmission levels and potential absences in schools (for both students and staff) will help the schools make determinations about bringing students back for in-person learning.
If your student has COVID-19 symptoms or is COVID-19 positive but they are healthy enough to participate in remote learning, they will not be marked absent. If your student is not able to participate in remote learning, families should continue to report absences in the traditional manner.
While the students are in full remote learning, the schools will not be sending notifications to families. The district will continue to update historical data on student/staff positive cases, exclusions, and quarantine.
District makes adjustments to five future half days
The district has made some changes to the 2020-21 school year calendar. Four days (January 4, February 5, March 26, and April 30) will now be no student attendance at all grades. January 15 had been a half day but it will now be a full day of student attendance. The revised calendar can be viewed here: www.ccsd89.org/calendarPDF
Glenbard Parent Series: No drama discipline and parenting during the pandemic
