Principal's Message
January 4, 2019
Dear Willink Families,
Happy New Year to all of our Willink Middle School families! We are off to a running start here for 2019 and I have no doubt it's going to be a great year at WMS!! It doesn't take long to get right back into the routine here at school and the kids seemed to pick up in the new year right where they left off in 2018!
January is a very busy month around school and we started off with Ski Club taking their first trip to Bristol yesterday. All the reports were positive and from what I hear we have some pretty fancy skiers and snowboarders, not just among the kids but that includes the chaperones as well.
Our next new club activity begins on Monday as we will be having the first meeting of our brand new Chess Club. Kids do not need to know how to play, just come and learn! Chess is a great activity for all ages so we are hoping lots of kids show up on Monday.
Titan Day is this Tuesday, that's when teachers and counselors from Thomas High School spend the day here presenting our 8th graders with information about the classes available to them when they are 9th graders next year. It's a busy and exciting day so be sure to ask your 8th grader what they learned about Thomas during Titan Day.
Next up is our trio of January choral concerts. All of our singers have been practicing hard and are ready to perform (January 9, 15, & 16). Then on January 18th, we will be hosting the annual 8th grade semi-formal dance and of course, the Willink School Drama Club presents the musical version of The Wizard of Oz on February 1st and 2nd. All exciting stuff and I look forward to it all!
Finally, I am sure you have all noticed my weekly sign off the last few months..."Go Bills!" Well now that the season is over for my favorite team, I'll have to change that, how about this from now on;
With Titan Pride,
Dave Paddock
Interim Principal
