The students were lead by the Army Corps of Engineering staff and went on a beach exploration and learned about operations and design at the canal center.
After the outdoor environmental site, the students viewed exhibits and films about the Cape Cod Canal, explored the Canal’s rich history, vigilant operation and unique features.

The students discovered why and how the Canal was built, who uses the Canal, and how the US Army Corps of Engineers operates and maintains it today to ensure safe and efficient movement of vessels. The field trip was sponsored by School to Careers Partnership.
