We are pleased to announce that Cypress Elementary will be participating in Scripps National Spelling Bee for the first time! We are accepting applications for the Spelling Bee from students in 3rd through 5th grades. There will be one winner from our school to advance to the state competition in Austin on March 25th. To help your child(ren) achieve success in the Spelling Bee, we will hold 2 after school practice sessions on December 1st and December 15th from 2:45-3:45. The Cypress Bee will be held on January 10th at 8:15 a.m. We are really looking forward to a lot of participation this year and hope that your child(ren) will join us!

It's hard to believe, but we have already finished the first nine weeks of the 2017 - 2018 school year. It is time to celebrate all that our students have already accomplished this year! Our first Learning Celebration will be held on Friday, November 10th. We would love to have you join us to help celebrate your child's success thus far. Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities - We Need You!!
Thanksgiving Luncheon: We are in need of 100 Approved Volunteers to help us at this event so that it can run smoothly. Volunteer shifts are now in 30 minute time frames so you can eat with your child and not miss this special day. We normally have around 600 people come for this lunch and we need many hands to help. Feel free to sign up for more than one shift. you can click here to sign up.
Wild West Book Fair Deco Day: In need of Volunteers for November 9th from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM to come help us set up the book fair and decorate the library for the upcoming week. Five volunteers per hour will make this day go a lot faster. Click Here to volunteer.
Wild West Book Fair: We are looking for volunteers to help ALL this week, you must be an approved volunteer to help out. We are looking for cashiers to run registers and help children with smaller items, floaters to go around and help children locate the books they want and just help in general. Due to the volume of people and high flow of traffic that show up for this event, we would really like to have as many people as we can Pre-registered for this day. That way you can skip the line and spend more time with your kiddo.

Fall Book Fair
Wild West Book Fair is coming up next week (November 13th - November 17th)! The Book Fair will be open Monday - Wednesday from 7:20 - 3:30 and will be open late on Thursday night until 7:30. Don't forget to stop by when you visit for Thanksgiving Lunch! The Book Fair will be closing on Friday at 1:30.
