Jimmie Journal
News You Need to Know about JHS!--April 2021
Welcome to April
As we roll into April, I am nearly recovered from the disappointment of having my March Madness Bracket busted on the first weekend. In all seriousness though, we enjoyed a pretty good March here at JHS. We were able to have some concerts, 8th grade orientation, and the Jimmie Olympics--each with some modification. Nevertheless, we are slowly moving toward normalcy.
April is an interesting month in that we open with Spring Break April 5 - 9, and break will actually include Good Friday, giving us an extra day. This is a much deserved break for students, staff, and families alike. There's no April Foolin' that. However, when we return to school, everyone needs to be on point. The rest of the school year will certainly be a blur, so everyone needs to stay focused.
In this edition of the Jimmie Journal we highlight some of the celebrations from last month and preview things to come. There is so much on the horizon--I am tired already just thinking about it, but I am also excited to experience all the joys, celebrations, and activities to wind down the school year.
In closing, I know there is an urge to back off our Covid precautions. With vaccinations now available to Hoosiers aged 16 and up, the nice weather, and Covid fatigue, it is easy to start to slack. We need to stay steadfast in taking precautions to avoid any Covid spikes or false sense of security. I am as ready as anyone to move on from the pandemic, but we will stay strong--together. I appreciate each and every one of our students and staff who continue to push through. And I especially appreciate the support of our families!
That's it for this month. I'm off to stock up on sunscreen, so I don't get a sunburn over break. Who am I kidding, I'll still end up with my customary "glow". Remember, life continues to be good! Happy Easter to everyone!
