The Weather is Changing…
Children may not need a winter coat YET but it is definitely appropriate and encouraged for you to send your child in long pants and with a sweatshirt that can be taken on and off depending on the time of day and temperature.
In the morning, it can be quite chilly! Please make sure your students come to school dressed appropriately for outdoor time.
Terry Redlin Loves Reading!
In August, the Terry Redlin community was blessed with donations for books from donors organized by the Promising Futures Fund. Each classroom has been sponsored by a donor so that students can receive their own book each month through Scholastic! Thank you Promising Futures Fund and all of the donors for helping us create a love of reading both at school and at home.
Parents, you will begin to see these books coming home every month. We want you to keep them at home to add to your home’s book collection. TOGETHER we read!

Close Contact Change to Guidance
SFSD Families with a Student in Quarantine - This message is going to all families with students whose school attendance is currently coded as related to COVID. Please review the following information to see if it applies to your immediate situation.
The school board voted to revise the 14-day quarantine guidance for close contacts whose exposure occurred in the school setting, and both the positive case and the close contact were masked when the exposure occurred. For this setting, the 14-day quarantine is now recommended but not required.
A person identified by the school as a close contact may return to school IF:
- The positive case was wearing a mask
- The close contact was wearing a mask when they were exposed
- The exposure occurred in a school setting
- The person has no COVID-related symptoms
- The parent/guardian has called the school to confirm eligibility to return
- The close contact MUST monitor for symptoms daily and wear a mask during the 14-day quarantine.
- The Intent to Return form is turned into the school upon return
Please Note:
If your child does not have symptoms and you wish to continue the recommended quarantine period at home, the absence will NOT count against them.
Those people who were exposed to a positive case in a non-school setting must remain in quarantine.
If you do not have access to a thermometer or need assistance with daily health screens please let the school know and we will assist.
*PARENTS/GUARDIANS MUST CALL THE SCHOOL BEFORE THE STUDENT RETURNS TO CONFIRM THEIR STUDENT IS ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND. PLEASE BE PATIENT. STAFF WILL PROCESS THESE CALLS AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.
Thank you for supporting our continued efforts to keep students engaged and on track with their learning.
