Quist ROYALS Weekly News
May 5, 2023
Hello ROYALS!
As we enter the final weeks of the school year, there are many events and activities to celebrate accomplishments and bring students together to wrap up the year. WEB is hosting a dance on Friday, May 12 at 5:30pm. Students can buy tickets in advance for $5 or at the door for $7. There will be award nights for WEB students and spring athletics. The National Junior Honor Society will induct new members. The choir and band will be performing in their latest pieces on May 10 and May 17 respectively. Field trips are scheduled for the week of May 16. Field day is planned for May 24. And, of course, there is the celebration of 8th grade students at Continuation on May 25. There are lots of activities to look forward to in the upcoming weeks. Please keep an eye out for communication from teachers about these events as well as for information about how you can support these events throughout this newsletter.
Amidst all of the celebrations and activities, I want to make you aware that we will have a special guest, Lynn Riemer, coming to Quist Middle School on Tuesday, May 16. Ms. Riemer will talk with students about vaping, marijuana, and consequences of vaping/marijuana use. In addition to the grade level talks, Ms. Riemer will host a virtual session for parents on May 16 from 6pm-7:30pm. The parent session will discuss ways people use drugs, vaping and consequences of vaping, today's marijuana, and how youth get these substances. You can read more about the session and Lynn Riemer through the flyer below. More information about how you can join the virtual session will be coming soon.
I hope to see many of you through these upcoming events. I wish you a great week ahead!
