Football Hosts Vestavia on Senior Night

Hewitt-Trussville Football (5-2 Overall; 2-2 7A Region 3) will host Vestavia (1-5 Overall; 1-3 7A Region 3) on Friday night as the Huskies celebrate Senior Night. Friday night's game will be the final regular season home game for the Huskies.

Senior Night festivities will begin on the field at 6:25pm Friday. The order will be:

Friday's game will mark the 17th ever meeting between the two teams. The Rebels hold a 13-3 series lead. The Huskies have won three of the last four meetings including a 42-35 win in 2020.

Cross Country: Elite 8 Meet Recap
Hewitt-Trussville Cross Country traveled to Veteran's Park on Thursday afternoon for the Elite 8 Meet. The HT Boys finished in 2nd place as a team. Mitchell Phillips placed 2nd individually with a time of 16:55.62. Tristan Teer also recorded a top-five finish as he placed 5th individually. Teer finished the race in 17:30.85. Thomas Himes had a top-10 finish as he placed 10th with a time of 17:53.87. Rush Lachina finished in 18:26.94 and William Gallant finished in 18:36.76 to round out the scoring for the Huskies.
The HT Girls placed 4th as a team on Thursday. Kylee Sisk was the top HT finisher as she ran in a time of 21:02.10. Avery Cahoon (22:15.63) and Sophia Knox (22:30.35) recorded top-20 individual finishes. Hannah O'Kelley finished in 23:02.61 and Sophie Bryant finished in 23:53.87 to round out the team scoring.
Hewitt-Trussville Cross Country will host the Husky Challenge on October 16.
Girls Flag Football Games Postponed
Due to weather concerns, the Girls Flag Football games scheduled for Tuesday night have been postponed. Once a makeup date is set, we will pass along an updated schedule.
Volleyball Hosts Final Home Game Wednesday Night
Hewitt-Trussville Volleyball will play its final home game of the 2021 season on Wednesday night when they host Pleasant Grove at 6pm. Tickets for Wednesday's game can be purchased at the link below:
Following Wednesday's game, the Huskies will prepare for the AHSAA 7A Area 6 Tournament that will be held on Thursday October 14.

2021-2022 Student Athletic Passes Still Available
In an effort to increase our fan base and make game attendance more affordable, Student Athletic Passes will be available for the fourth consecutive year. With this pass, students will be able to enter ALL HTMS and HTHS home regular season sporting events. The pass is $25 and will be digital for the 2021-2022 school year. Passes can be purchased via the link at the bottom of the Q&A.
Q. What is the purpose of the Student Athletic Pass?
A. The Student Athletic Pass will be available to ALL students in the district (K-12). Our goal is to make it easier and more affordable for students to attend Hewitt-Trussville sporting events.
Q. What can I attend with this pass?
A. Students that have their pass can enter ALL HTMS and HTHS home regular season sporting events. Every sport! For the entire 2021-2022 school year!
Q. How much does this pass cost?
A. The Student Athletic Pass is $25
Q. How do I purchase a Student Athletic Pass?
A. Passes are digital and can be purchased through the schools' GoFan page. A link is provided at the bottom of this Q&A.
When purchasing your Student Athletic Pass, it is recommended that you use the “Students personal email” when setting up the account during the purchase process. To access the mobile pass for entry into events, you will need to go to gofan.co on your mobile device or download the GoFan app, and login with the email and password that you used during time of purchase. The pass will be in the “Tickets” section. The pass will be validated just like a mobile ticket is done on GoFan. If you have multiple students purchasing passes, we recommend that you purchase them one at a time, and create an account for each student so that they can access their pass with their own email and password (pass transfer functionality will be available closer to the season).
If you are a parent purchasing a pass for a student that does not have a mobile device, you can do so using your personal email address to setup the account and you may present your child’s pass on your own device for entry into events.
Q. Do students with a Student Athletic Pass still need to buy a ticket?
A. No. The Student Athletic Pass is good for admission to ALL HTMS and HTHS regular season home games. Tickets will need to be purchased for playoff games only.

HTHS Girls Golf Tryouts Begin October 25
HTHS Girls Golf Tryouts will be October 25-28. The tentative schedule is:
Monday and Tuesday 3:15pm-5pm

The indoor season starts in November, and the outdoor season starts in February. There will be summer and fall opportunities for training, and we make it a priority to work with other sports. Email Coach Esslinger at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions. It was the most successful year in program history with two state championships, and there is something for everyone (sprinting, distance running, jumping, throwing).
7th Grade Volleyball Places 2nd at Metro Tournament
The Hewitt-Trussville Middle School 7th Grade Volleyball team placed 2nd in the Metro Tournament over the weekend. The Huskies opened the event with a Friday night win over Thompson. On Saturday, the Huskies dropped a game against Berry. HT came back to defeat Pizitz, Homewood, and Berry to reach the championship game.
The 7th Grade Huskies dropped just four matches the entire season.
MS Football to Host Final Games of the Season
Hewitt-Trussville Middle School Football will host Mountain Brook on Thursday night in the final home games of the season. The 7th Grade game will start at 5pm and the 8th Grade game will start at 6:45pm.

Middle School Cross Country: Meet Recap
Hewitt-Trussville MS Cross Country traveled to Moulton over the weekend for the 23rd annual Jesse Owens Classic.
The HT Girls finished in 10th place as a team. Natalie Wiram collected a top-10 finish as she placed 9th with a time of 12:17.59. Other top finishers for the Huskies were: Samantha Morrison, Bailey Moates, Lily Clayton, and Lauren Felts.
The HT Boys finished in 14th place as a team. Ryan Clark was the top HT finisher with a time of 12:18.82. The other top finishers for the Huskies were: Josh Julbert, Charlie Wood, Gabriel Knox, and Titus Blakely.
Middle School Baseball Evaluations Will Begin October 16
HTMS Baseball Evaluations will start at 9am on October 16. Any questions concerning HTMS Baseball evaluations can be sent to Daniel Adamson at email@example.com.
HTMS Boys Golf Tryouts Begin October 18
Any 7th or 8th Grade boys wanting tryout for the HTMS Boys Golf Team need to sign up by scanning the QR code on the flyers posted by the boy's locker room, or at various points around the school. Information sheets can also be picked up from Mr. McGuyer's room; Room 303 on the slanted hall.

HTMS Girls Golf Tryouts Begin October 25
Those interested in trying out for the HTMS Girls Golf team need to complete the Google Form. Tryouts are scheduled for Monday, October 25th and Tuesday, October 26th. Monday will be at Trussville Country Club and Tuesday will be at Grayson Valley Country Club. Start time is 3:45pm on both days. Detailed information about the Girls Golf program can be found by clicking the following link:
Parents and students need to sign up for the Girls Golf Remind by texting @htms21golf to 81010.
Parents also need to create a DragonFly Max account if you have not already for another sport.
