This is the first parent newsletter of the school year which means there is a significant amount of information being sent your way. Please review the information in this newsletter and contact the main office if you have any questions.
Earlier this week, the information in this link about updated COVID protocols was sent to parents. Please make sure you have reviewed this important information and contact the school with any questions you may have.

Class Lists/Schedules
We know that students and families are anxious to learn who their teachers are and/or which classes they will have. As there is always movement over the summer with families moving away and others enrolling, class lists and schedules are currently being finalized and will be shared out by Monday, August 9th. Please know that a lot of effort goes into creating both class lists and schedules based on student needs, balancing class sizes, teacher recommendations, and space availability. Also, as stated in our student/parent handbook, we do not accept teacher requests. We appreciate your patience as we complete this process and look forward to sharing this information as soon as it is available.
Dress Code/Uniform
Students are expected to arrive no earlier than 8:10am.
Playgrounds before school and after school are not allowed.
Once students arrive on campus, they are expected to go inside the building to their class.
Students should be picked up promptly at the end of the school day.
Please refer to the map on specific zone locations to drop off and pick up your student.
Questions, please contact Mr. Jacobson/Mrs. Nichols (the Deans of Students).

The main office is open from Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (closed for lunch from 12:00-12:30 PM) during summer break. The office will return to normal hours 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM on August 11th.
Medication Drop off:
If your student has medications for the 2021-2022 school year please bring them to BECS before August 10. Office hours are Mon-Friday 8-2 pm closed from 12-12:30 for lunch. Below are the frequent forms that should be signed by a physician. All medications must be in its original packaging complete with the student's name. Meet & Greet Nights
Elementary (8/10) - this is an opportunity for students/families to meet their teachers, drop off school supplies and enjoy an ice cream treat before their first day of school. We ask that classroom visits are brief (under 15 minutes) to support our efforts to maintain health and safety measures.
Middle School (8/19) - this is an opportunity for families to meet their student’s teachers, students to reconnect with peers, and enjoy an ice cream treat. This is an outdoor event to allow families to easily meet all teachers while maintaining health and safety measures.
We look forward to having parents in the building during Parent/Teacher Conferences in the fall.
Middle School Bell Schedule & Green/Gold Days
This year, middle school students will have a Green/Gold day block schedule in which they will see all 7 classes over two days. The block schedule allows students to receive instruction in all content areas continuously throughout the year as well as providing extended time for hands-on in depth learning. Click here for a sample schedule and Green/Gold day calendar.
“Orientation” Days
Orientation Days are the first day of school and attendance is expected. Students will attend for a full day and breakfast/lunch will be available. During this time students will become reacquainted with school norms and procedures, connect with their teacher and peers, and get excited about the learning to come throughout the year. Our three-day rolling start provides a great opportunity for everyone to ease back into the school year.
School Tours
New Hawk Families! We realize this past year has been challenging without being able to have visitors in the building. We are excited to announce that we have scheduled New Family Tours for Saturday, August 7th. Tour guides will host up to five families in each group. Please sign up for the appropriate tour.
