Fitness for a Cure Fun

Dear Center Community,

April Fools' day was filled with fun and fitness at Center. We had a large gathering of students and staff volunteers who participated in a successful Fitness for a Cure event. We raised over $2,000 for this worthy cause. Special thanks to our student council members, Jenn Ball, Tanya Kivi, Sara Kielinen, and Chris McGillicuddy for their efforts in organizing this.

The coming week recognizes two important roles in schools, paraprofessionals and assistant principals. If you haven't thanked your AP recently, be sure to do so this week for Assistant Principal Appreciation Week. We thank Mrs. Omobono, for bringing passion and kindness to the position each and every day.

A huge shout out to our paraprofessionals. We couldn't meet the needs of our students without them. They go above and beyond to provide care, and academic, behavioral and emotional support to our students! Join us in thanking them this week.

Light it Up Blue for World Autism Day

In addition to teaching academics we support our students to recognize, appreciate and celebrate our similarities and differences. Tuesday, students and staff are encouraged to wear blue for LIght it up Blue, Autism Awareness Day. 1 in 88 children are diagnosed with Autism. Students with autism may have difficulties with social interactions, verbal or non-verbal communication or exhibit repetitive behaviors. To quote Dr. Shore, "If you have met one person with autism, you have met one person with autism." Every individual diagnosed with autism is unique. If you are looking for a way to explain autism to your child(ren) please check out the video below..

Have a good week.

Warm regards,

Dianna and Donna

Center Cares

Dear Center Community,

We often think of donating to help others in need around holiday times in November and December, however circumstances that impact families financially arise at all times of the year.

Please, know that we are currently seeking gift card donations to help our families that need some extra support. Gift cards in $20-25 increments (or any amount) from Target, Walmart or Market Basket would be most welcome! Please, if you are able to make a donation you may drop off gift cards at the front office.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and care.

Warm regards,

Ms. Lallas, Center School Counselor
