Distance Learning Announcements and Updates! 1/9/21
A Message from Principal Ghereben!
Greetings Proctor Community,
Welcome Back and Happy New Year to you all! I hope that you were able to spend quality time with your loved ones over the holiday break in a safe and fun way. This New Year has definitely started out to be a bit rocky for our nation as the events from this week have been very disheartening to watch and hear about. It's important to remember more than ever to honor and care for one another as we continue to persevere through Distance Learning, and do our part as a school community to show kindness and model the behavior we want our students and children to learn from.
During the last few months, we have been developing a robust Reopening and Safety Plan, which includes all County Department of Health requirements. On November 12th, phases and dates of reopening were approved by the Governing Board. As a reminder, our reopening dates as approved by the Governing Board are predicated on health conditions improving and Alameda County being in the Red Tier for a period of time.
In the meantime, we will continue preparing for reopening as outlined in our Roadmap and Safety Plan while we patiently wait for improvement in the number of cases in Alameda County. Please make sure to attend next week's CVUSD Board meeting on Wednesday, January 13th at 5:30pm (corrected day and time from last week's email - see details below).
This Sunday evening I will send out our next themed video for the "Student and Family Trainings for Returning to School" series - Week 2: Wearing a Mask
I am requesting that every family review the information and help their child complete the weekly activity. This will ensure that our reopening is done safely, smoothly and consistently.
Thank you for your patience and partnership as we navigate this together!
Sincerely,
Heather Ghereben
Proctor Principal
