DISD Climate Survey - 100% Participation Goal
Our Fall Climate Survey is here again!! Please take a moment to complete the survey. The Climate survey information is valuable and at ARSA it is a large part of how we make adjustments as we look ahead to having an even stronger 2nd semester.
Leadership at ARSA and District Leadership take the feedback by campus staff as important and guiding factors. It lets us know where to celebrate and where to focus growth efforts. Our Climate Survey also communicates to parents and community members what we perceive as a campus and what we see is effective and our opportunities for growth.
The Four sections are:
- Beliefs & Priorities,
- Positive Culture & Environment,
- Culture of Feedback & Support, and
- College – Going Culture
Our goal is for 100% of our staff to participate in the Climate Survey, to ensure the most accurate data.

ARSA Instructional Highlights
ARSA Sped Instructional Highlight - Ms. Baker
With all of the changes in Special Education with teachers being on maternity leave and starting the year implementing our Ability Connection program, Ms. Baker has been very thorough with making sure that all of the needs of her students and students in surrounding classes are met.
Her positive attitude and energy keep her students engaged and excited about learning. Her classroom is one of the most welcoming classrooms on campus with treats and water for everyone.
- Send text and picture to Mrs. Taylor-Glenn via email.
- Subject line must include Spotlight.
- Due by every Friday, 5pm.
Spotlight on Mrs. Summers- Lead. Team. Achieve
Mrs. Summers knows how to “use whatcha got to get whatcha want!” The 8th grade ELAR students in POD C are so fortunate to have her experience and ingenuity. She has creatively carved out a corner in the stairwell and is giving some of our students some much needed additional support. They came back smiling and feeling a little more confident. We appreciate her so much and are looking forward to the results!
Spotlight on Mr. Gerrity
Spotlight on Mr. Gerrity for unknowingly providing me with some cheer on a rough day: as I walked past his room, I saw him leading students in a rousing rendition of “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” (in German, of course), complete with motions! Way to make learning fun!
Spotlight on ARSA Staff - Team
Spotlight on Ms. Lewis, Ms. Ward, Ms. Price, Ms. Crabtree, Mr. Smyth, Ms. Hawkins, Ms. Summers, and Ms. Williams for being flexible and corralling 100 eager 6th graders for almost 2 hours while plans were up in the air. Spotlight, too, on Ms. Martinez, for knowing the right thing to do and jumping in to assist exactly when needed. I want to be crystal clear: you all helped immeasurably and prevented a bad situation from getting worse. Thank you!!
