Bethany Sciara Period 3
Overview of Kim Nobles
Kim Noble is a woman who, from the age of 14 years, spent 20 years in and out of hospital until she made contact with Dr Valerie Sinason and Dr Rob Hale at the Tavistock and Portman Clinics. In 1995 she began therapy and was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder. She has over 100 personalities, 20 of which come to her every day.
Why Kim has Multiple Personality Disorder.
Kim's disorder was brought about by her traumatic childhood. Her father was abusive toward her and her mother from the time she was very young. As a teen she had a very difficult time in school due to her home life. This caused her to be picked on frequently and she became suicidal. Kim was switched in and out of hospitals for many years of her adolescence.
About Kim's personalities:
Kim has over 100 personalities, which are all quite different from one another. Some of the personalities revert to a child that tries to protect her mother from her father, and another teen that tries to commit suicide. About 20 of her personalities are very talented artists that sell their works. To the right is one of her abstract pieces that she created when she could not sleep (as represented).
