Kids Heart Challenge at GWS!
Our school is doing the Kids Heart Challenge program (formerly known as Jump Rope for Heart) during PE classes throughout the month of February! All students will be participating in this fun physical activity, making their own hearts healthier and happier.
If you choose to help support the lifesaving work the American Heart Association does, you can donate using the Kids Heart Challenge app or at www.heart.org/kidsheartchallenge. Students will bring home collection envelopes for offline donations. Checks should be made payable to the American Heart Association. Fundraising is an optional part of this program.
Thank you,
Mr. Jackson
AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM for grades 3, 4, and 5
Applications are being accepted for the 2019 GWS After School Enrichment Program. Apply online at https://goo.gl/forms/HKD55qAt5FzNs9sD2.

REMINDERS FOR PARENTS
In accordance with Chapter 76, Section I of Massachusetts General Law, Marshfield Public Schools is required to notify the parent/guardian of a student who has reached five (5) unexcused absences in a school year. Parents/Guardians will be notified by a letter when five (5) unexcused absences have been reached.
In the event that a student exceeds ten (10) unexcused absences, a parent/guardian is required to meet with an administrator to discuss his/her child’s attendance issues.
SCHOOL DISMISSAL: Please document all dismissal changes with a written note to your child’s homeroom teacher. The school must hear directly from a parent/guardian. Please remember that phone calls during the school day cause interruptions to the classroom and may lead to confusion at the end of the day.
NOTES TO SCHOOL: Please be sure to include your child’s first and last name plus homeroom teacher’s name on all correspondence regarding dismissal changes and absences.
ALTERNATE BUS STOPS: When road conditions are hazardous to safe school bus travel, certain residential areas have been assigned alternate bus stops. Parents/guardians will be notified by the school district’s ConnectEd telephone system when alternate bus stops are to be used.
