Primary - Eagle Pride!
A Message from the Principal
WOW! We’re off to a great second semester!
As we enter the third quarter of the 2020-2021 school year, Primary students are working extremely hard to reach their reading and math goals. Reading is vital for your child’s educational/life success. We are proud of their hard work and continue to have high expectations for all children.
Parents, we want to thank you for your continued partnership and support. Research shows that parents’ expectations are linked to academic achievement. When parents have warm, close relationships with their children, expectations are even more powerful. Take time to talk to your child about what his/her goals are for this school year. Parents, you can also help your child be successful by setting expectations for them. Please take the following into consideration when setting expectations;
Be Reasonable –Expect your child to work hard.
Be Patient –Plan small milestones along the way.
Be Flexible –Sometimes goals have to be changed.
Be Optimistic –Celebrate your child’s accomplishments, no matter how small it may seem.
Proud to be YOUR Child’s Principal!

Random Acts of Kindness
We celebrate this tradition because we all need a little kindness in our lives. Lets get our Little Eagles involved and teach them about kindness and compassion. Kindness week will be celebrated February 15 through February 19 at the Primary.
School Counselor Week
Mrs. Andrada is a wonderful role model and huge support to our Little Eagles. She models what it means to be a good citizen, something we try to teach our students every day. She can be found welcoming students every morning, helping at lunch time, Friday clubs, small and individual groups, arranging testing and much, much more. She is always willing to lend a helping hand when a student or staff member needs help. She always has a smile on her face and a positive attitude towards the day. We appreciate her and all the little things she does to make each day a little better here at Pleasanton Primary.

Caring Connections Calendar
Authentic connection provides a buffer that softens the negative effects of stressful situations. As you and your family cope with the life changes and anxiety caused by COVID-19, use activities from this Caring Connections Calendar to enjoy restorative moments of bonding, beauty and joy.
Created by Master Instructor Kim Hughes, the Caring Connections Calendar features activities that strengthen relationships by practicing kindness, being grateful and spending quality time with those we love. Each activity builds connection while encouraging kind acts, helpfulness and positivity.
Like connection, being kind and helpful to others is a biological imperative that is required for optimal brain development. It also releases feel-good chemicals and hormones, something we could all benefit from right now.
Similarly, focusing on the positive creates more positivity. Practicing gratitude offers significant benefits for our mental and physical health, including enhanced empathy, better sleep and improved self-esteem. The activities included in the Caring Connections Calendar may seem simple, but the impact they’ll have on you and your family is powerful.
