NHS Staff Notes- October 2018

From the Principal's Desk- Weekend Event
In Regards to an Instagram Post with a gun threat to the school:
Update: I just finished a phone call with the WCPD and the investigation has concluded that there was neither a credible threat to the school nor its inhabitants relating to the recent social media posting that has caused such concern.
The student will not be at school for the foreseeable future while we pursue the avenues available to us.
Please know that behavior like this is taken very seriously by those of us in charge of the safekeeping of our students. As such, know that there will be administrative consequences for those involved with this incident. Please also know how very limited we are in the amount, and the kind, of information that we can share based on existing law. I recognize that this might sound hollow, but it is a reality that I, and others in my position, unfortunately face too frequently.
To this end, please keep talking to your kids. Know what they're doing online. Know what they think, and don't forget that all of us, working together, have the capacity to continue to build community around great kids.
