Video Series: Message from the Nurses
Dear KSD Families,
In the second video of our five part series, you'll hear from Nurse Erika Ricci from Tillman. She outlines the contact tracing training all nurses have undergone, along with the quarantine rooms established, should a child get ill at school. "It’s going to be very busy. But we are trained. We have been discussing this for months and months including all summer. We have support and we are confident in our roles," said Ricci.
We encourage you to watch these videos with your child(ren).
Families Choosing At-Home

Communication Protocol and Definitions
A positive case of a person (staff or student) in a school or facility within 48 hours will require an email to be sent to the entire school community.
If a class is quarantined, the entire school will be notified.
Current Positive: A staff member or student currently isolated due to a lab-confirmed positive COVID-19 test
Recovered Staff members/Students: A staff member or student who has recovered from COVID-19 and has returned to school.
Currently in Quarantine: A staff member or student who is currently in a 14-day self-quarantine due to having close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
Released from Quarantine: A student or staff member who has returned to school from a 14-day self-quarantine due to having close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
Close Contact : Someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic clients, 2 days prior to positive specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated.
Once a positive case is reported, contact tracing takes place for the two days prior to the onset of symptoms or two days prior to the positive test result, if symptoms were not present.
