A Message from Mrs. Caudill
Thank you to all the Bobcats that donated to the Civic Concern drive. We were able to donate nearly 400 food items to Northville Civic Concern. Even during crazy times and changing tides, the Amerman Community finds ways to give back and make a difference! We appreciate your compassion and kindness.❤️A special thanks to Amelia and Rose from Mrs. Parnin's class for helping organize and count all of our donations!
Also, a very Happy Valentine's Day to all of our Amerman Bobcat's. While our Valentine celebrations were a bit different, it was fun hearing their laughter. You could feel the joy in the building.
I hope you take this long weekend to rest, relax and rejuvenate. Enjoy this extra long weekend with your family. I look forward to seeing everyone back, ready to learn on Wednesday, February 17.
Stay Safe,
Devon Caudill

February Focus: Kindness! Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
Every month Amerman Focuses on a new theme and Leader in Me Habit of the Month. The focus for the month of February is Kindness and our Habit of the Month is Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
This month’s Habit: Habit #5 - Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
What this means: Listen before you talk. In order to communicate effectively, we must first understand each other.
“I listen to other people’s ideas and feelings.”
“I try to see things from their viewpoints.”
“I listen to others without interrupting.”
“I am confident in voicing my ideas.”
“I look people in the eyes when talking.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. Listen.
2. Put yourself in the other person’s place.
3. Notice a person’s body language, tone, and reflection in their voice.
Great Books for Habit #5-Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
Alejandro’s Gift by Richard E. Albert
The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown
Stellaluna by Janell Cannon
Jamaica’s Find by Juanita Havill
The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka
If you would like to recognize your child for being proactive or using Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood at home, please fill out the following Bobcat Boost and return it to your child's teacher.
