Brad Waid- Keynote Monday
Brad is an educator with over 15 years of classroom experience, an industry leader in Ed Tech, 21st Century Learning, Culture and Innovation and Augmented Reality. Brad is an expert in applying technology into the educational field and is on the leading edge of emerging technologies and their impact on the education system. He is a Co-Founders of AR Detroit, a Co-Founder of Two Guys and Some iPads blog, Co-Host of the wildly popular “Two Guys Show”, host of the new show “Appy Days with Techbradwaid”. Brad has been honored by the National School Board Association as one of the “20 to Watch” in Educational Technology. Brad’s expertise and his passion to inspire educational change, makes him a highly sought after speaker.
Keynote Site and Course Starting Point: NMU Jamrich Hall
Monday/Tuesday micro courses will run from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30* p.m. on Monday afternoon and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30* p.m. on Tuesday.
Wednesday/Thursday micro courses will run from 12:30 to 3:30* on Wednesday afternoon and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30* p.m. on Thursday.
Lunch is "on your own" each day from 11:30 to 12:30.
*3:30 to 4:00 p.m. is time set aside by the instructor to confer with participants individually or in small groups or to expand upon topics.
Dr. Shelly Arneson- Keynote Wednesday
Shelly Arneson, international presenter and author of multiple books, earned her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction and her dissertation focused on teacher trust in school administrators, specifically determining which factors impact trust in principals. Her expertise as a school principal has spurred her interests into helping schools and districts build collaborative communities of inquiry and trust. She presents keynotes and workshops on her latest book Building Trust in Teacher Evaluations (Corwin, 2015). Shelly’s experience ranges from teaching to counseling to administration to teaching administration courses at the university level. She loves it all!
