News from Fine Arts

In art class this month, students will learn about the artist Frank Stella. Frank Stella has dedicated 60 years of his life to creating art and is 86 years old. He is a painter, printmaker, sculptor, and abstract artist. He was born in Massachusetts, went to Princeton University, and currently resides in New York. In 2009 Frank Stella received the National Medal of Arts, from President Barak Obama. Frank Stella said, " I don't like to say I have given my life to art. I prefer to say art has given me my life."

Sprouty Store Wishlist

The Sprouty Store was a huge success last year, and we need donations for the new school year! The Sprouty store is a monthly student store that is available for 1st-5th grade students. Throughout the school year students earn Sproutys, Hooker Oak's school money, and they can spend them at the store. The Sprouty Store is able to happen from parent donations. You can check out our Amazon wish list, which gets directly sent to Hooker Oak, or if you spot something you think students will enjoy you can drop it off at the office. We appreciate all donations to the Sprouty Store!
