Important Dates and Reminders
Flyers were sent home in backpacks last week. Please return your envelopes to your teachers and make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for their portrait.
Sunday. September 29: Catechetical Sunday- Teacher commissioning during 10:30 Mass and Parish Picnic to follow. All are welcome to attend.
Coming up in October
Wednesday October 2: Change in uniform policy- From October 2nd thru April 30th, students will observe the winter uniform guidelines. For details, follow this link.
Wednesday, October 2-4: Camp Hi Rock: All students in grades 7-12 will be attending the three day, two night adventure and team building retreat together at YMCA Camp Hi Rock in Mt Washington, MA. Information and permission forms were sent home so please complete the necessary paperwork and submit to the office no later than Monday.
Monday, October 7- NO SCHOOL: All teachers must attend a faith formation day at the Diocese office in Burlington.
Thursday, October 10: Fall Open House- invite your friends and family to come experience SMS. We will open our classrooms to current families and prospective students.
Monday, October 14: NO SCHOOL
Camp Hi Rock Updates
- If you have not returned paperwork for your student, please return everything Monday.
- We are all set on parent chaperones and drivers. In addition to our teachers, we would like to thank the four parents who stepped up to help out this year and who have completed all of the necessary paperwork to attend.

- 26 families who have sold 6 or more of their raffle tickets!!!
- Total tickets sold to date: 264
- Based on ticket sales and trends, we are well on our way to selling all 1,000 this year! Look at the results from the same week in years past:

A note to Parents regarding Tuition and Incidental Billing on FACTS
Just a few reminders:
- If you need to make any changes to your payment plan for tuition or incidental billing, I need at least 72 business hours notice. Once your payment has been initiated between FACTS and the Federal Reserve, I no longer have the ability to make changes.
- If you have a payment scheduled and insufficient funds in your account, you will be charged a $30 returned payment fee by FACTS. The charge will be reattempted again in 15 days.

SMS Saints take on the Putney School in second game of the season

The Saint Michael High School Saints soccer team hosted the Putney School of Putney, VT. Thursday, September 19 at SIT field in their second match of the season. Despite a strong first half showing highlighted by three spectacular saves by goalie Casey Christie, the Saints came up short in a disappointing 8-2 loss, with Putney’s explosive offense scoring five unanswered second half goals.
The Saints offense was once again led by Ezra Christie, who scored two goals, his second and third of the season.
The Saints will be back in action this coming week with two contests, one at home Tuesday September 24 vs White Oak Charter School and one away Thursday September 26 against The Academy at Charlemont at Charlemont, Massachusetts.

If you would like your child to have breakfast, please make sure they order it the day beforehand. This will allow us time to bake or prepare meals that are ready to go the next day.
After School Meal Program
Attached, please find the After School Meal Program (AMP) menu for the month.
If you are unfamiliar with "AMP" this is a free meal program, sponsored by the state, and available to all students who stay after school for any reason. If your child is staying for aftercare, sports, drama, tutoring etc. they are welcome to order AMP in the morning and eat in the afternoon FOR FREE. Paper copies are available in the office if you would like a copy for home.

Our goal by using music to bring joy, healing, comfort and purpose to people’s life, hold the community together and connect them to each other. The concert/workshop, is contemporary expression of the beauty of modality from Turkey and from the various Mediterranean traditions. Mediterranean music which is modal music that based around tones or modes.
Dr. Ayla Clark, is music psychotherapist, consultant, music educator, composer, and “Qanun” instrument player which has 75 strings. She is also the founder of SVMT Foundation.
Ron Smith, is a jazz musician, and educator, “saxophone”, “piano”, “cello” and percussion player. Smith is also director of jazz programs & bands at Northfield Mount Hermon School, MA
Tom Robertson, percussionist, folk dancer, singer. For many years, he plays and sings with Mary Brass’s River singers.
Piano and organ lessons now available
Hi! I'm Breton Abbondanzio, the music teacher at Saint Michael School and Music director for the parish. I'm pleased to offer private lessons in piano and organ to interested families. I teach all ages and levels, and some of my students have won prizes in the ATAM Music Competition in Newton, MA. Lessons are a half hour in duration and my fee is reasonable and competitive.
