What's Happening this Week?
Social Studies
Soup & A Story
Science
We are still looking at properties of light. This week students will get to use prisms to try to view the color spectrum. As light travels in waves, students will create a wavelength spectrum to illustrate the different types, including visible light. We will perform other experiments as well.

Writing
Students will begin experimenting with writing poetry. I will introduce "found poetry" on Monday and students will be given a piece of text to use to create their own found poem. Students will then begin to explore different types of poetry during writing such as: diamante, cinquain, haiku, and so forth.
Grading Scale
Students will be assigned letter grades/percentage grades. The following is a breakdown:
- A = 93-100
- B = 85-92
- C = 77-84
- D = 70-76
- F = 76
Assignment Values
- Quick Checks = 10 points
- Activities = 25 points
- Quizes = 50
- Test = 100
- Projects = 100
