Enrique's Journey

Confusion
After Enrique's mom leaves for the United States, he wonders who he will be staying with. For about two years he stays with his father. Luis takes him to work and lets him help mix mortar. As enrique grows older his father brings home a new woman. the new woman finds Enrique to be an economic burden. To show her dislike towards Enrique she spills hot cocoa on him. Luis throws her out the house, but only for a brief time. When Luis goes to chase after the woman Enrique begs to stay with him but the father forces him to stay with his grandmother. While Enrique lives with his grandmother in a 30 square foot shack, he works the streets selling bags of spices. When Mother's Day comes around he makes her a card saying “I love you very much, Grandma.” While Lourdes is in The United States an old boyfriend joins her in Long Beach. she becomes pregnant and gets deported. She lives in a garage with with her two year old daughter named Diana. She works cleaning offices and floors, sometimes making $1,000 to $1,200.Enrique wants to travel to be with his mother, so he asks his grandmother. She tells him it was probably by the trains. Lourdes does not want him to come because she believes it is too dangerous.
