"Love First, Last, & Always"
With so many things changing in our world and so many unknowns facing us, what we can be absolutely sure of is God’s abounding love and constant presence. He is indeed with us.
While we are faced with this uncertainty, I invite you to consider your perspective. Rather than seeing a problem, see this as an opportunity. We, a vibrant Christian people, have an opportunity to be Christ to others, now more than ever. What matters right now, first and foremost, is sharing our love, supporting others in their confusion and worry, and generously helping those in need.
We can do this together. While maintaining healthy social distancing and following the protocols set out before us, we can accompany others on this journey. Make a few phone calls. Do a few porch drop offs. Safely share what’s in your pantry or on your storage shelves. Listen. Be present and joyful with your kids. Because what seems like a problem, is actually an opportunity.
May you be comforted in knowing that He is our protector.
Almighty God,
You are blessed throughout all ages for your mercy and love. Look upon us in our time of need and give us the strength to persevere in your love. Protect your people from all harm and guide us with the light of your face until we overcome all challenges.
We make this prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
A Message from our school Chaplain - Mrs. Beliveau
Letter from Archbishop Smith
As of March 16th, the Archdiocese of Edmonton has made several changes in accordance with our province's and Chief Medical Officer's directions.
All weekday and weekend masses are cancelled until further notice. Archbishop Smith has granted all the Catholic faithful dispensation from our Sunday obligation. All parish Lenten missions, penitential services, and sacramental preparation classes are also cancelled.
We are encouraged to participate "remotely" in mass:
- Daily mass is available on Salt + Light TV or Vision TV or online at https://dailytvmass.com/daily-tv-mass/.
- The Archdiocese will live stream Sunday mass at 10:30 from St. Joseph's Basilica. Visit their Facebook page at Facebook.com/archedmonton. No Facebook account is required to view it.
- Daily Mass is also available at Bishop Barron's Word on Fire chapel
- Divine Liturgies: Saint Josaphat Cathedral (Edmonton) will livestream Sunday liturgy at stjosaphat.ab.ca. Saint Stephen Parish (Calgary) will post a recorded Divine Liturgy at saintstephencalgary.ca.
Please see the complete letter from Archbishop Smith here.
Teachers are here for you!
LITTLE ORCHARD SADOCHOK PRESCHOOL - REGISTER NOW!
We are now accepting registrations for the 2020/2021 school year! We are an English based preschool program with some Ukrainian fun! Program is for 4 year old's and will be based out Jean Vanier Catholic School in Sherwood Park. To obtain registration forms or if you have any questions, please email either bucpssecretary@gmail.com or little.orchard.sadochok@gmail.com.
*** PLEASE NOTE: The Little Orchard Sadochok Preschool has always ran with a volunteer board, typically comprised of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. At a minimum, we require individuals to step up into the President and Treasurer roles - without these integral positions filled, we will be unable to move forward and run the program for the 2020/2021 school year. Fortunately we have had someone come forward to take on the Treasurer role (thank you!), but we are still actively seeking a President for the preschool. Please reach out to your Executive if you have any questions or wish to help. ***
