PIT Crew will be at the BJHS game this week!
Sign up sheets for this week's game and all other PIT crew games will be hanging on Mrs. Merritt's office door. Students will sign up for the games they want to be part of, and Mrs. Merritt will choose 6 students to participate each week. Those students and their families will be notified ASAP. Shirts will be distributed at the PIT Crew meeting point at BJHS and students should bring their permission slips with them.
MORNING/AFTERNOON Band Room passes have been laminated and every student will put one on their backpack with a zip tie. These are new passes that not only include morning passes but also afternoon passes. Students will be able to leave class at 3:07 to come get their instruments if they are a bus rider if they need to.
PRIVATE LESSONS:
Private Lessons are strongly encouraged for all Band Students.

Updated CHARMS account statements will be sent out soon. Please check your email or CHARMS account and let me know about any questions you have.
Fees are past due as of August 31. If you need to set up a payment plan, please contact me at Treasurer@DMSBands.org and I will work with Mrs Merritt immediately.
Fundraising
FUNDRAISING:
1) Bedsheets - $39/set, $12 for extra pillowcases. Orders and payment are due Tuesday 9/11, please put in the Band Room Mail Box. Sheets will be in by the end of September.
Checks made to DMS Bands.
Out of town family and friends can order bedsheets - the online sales website adds the shipping cost, so please don't use this website for regular in-town sales.

Orlando Band Trip Meeting: Tuesday 9/11 6:00pm - The Orlando Band Trip is scheduled April 3 - 8, 2019. A $150 deposit will be due by Friday 9/14.

Football Band (Pep Band)
Game Performance Thursday
CALL TIME IS 5:15 in the Band Room
Uniform: Black Band polo, blue jeans and neutral tennis shoes.
Uniforms can be worn to school on game day.
Students who would have a hard time getting back to school by 5:15pm are able to stay after school (we will provide pizza for dinner). Students will be encouraged to do homework during this time. If a student CAN go home and come back by 5 or 5:15, he/she should do that. We don't have enough room for all 100 students to stay.
We will have Domino's Pizza!
Students can bring $5 cash for each game day.
Please put the cash in an envelope with "pregame pizza" and student's name and place in the payment mailbox.
We will have a sign in sheet at the pizza table so we know who to charge in Charms.
Students should have a way to contact their parents at the end of the game. They can use the phone in the band room if they need to. Plan on picking up anywhere from 8:30-9pm.

We need supplies and volunteers to help after school on Pep Band performance days.

Cadet/Beginner Band
Last Week in Cadet Band
We are finally playing our instruments regularly, and our beginners are starting to make decent sounds. Please encourage your child to practice for at least 15 minutes a day at home. Don’t forget to check Google Classroom for additional information. Our class code is: 8idro7
Charms
Please check to make sure your child has updated their Charms account to include a parent telephone number, a working parent email address, and preferably a parent Driver’s License Number (this is only used in the event that we receive a check to the band without a driver’s license number on it.) If your student has not yet done this, please encourage him or her to do so. This was a homework assignment given out two weeks ago.
Fundraiser
Don’t forget that we are still doing our Sheet Fundraiser. We set a goal for each student to sell at least two sheets. The order form and money are due this Friday, September 7. Sheets will be delivered in mid September.
This Week in Cadet Band
This week, student progress reports are going home. If your student has a “0” listed for any item in band, that means they have not turned in their assignment yet. Please encourage them to do so, and we can update that grade. School policy states that if your child misses an assignment due to an unexcused absence, he or she may NOT make up that assignment, so please be sure to turn in all excuses.

Fall Colorguard
Fall Guard Practice - Tuesday - 3:30pm-5:00pm
SEPT 6 Football game - The same opportunities for the guard to help with the band and be in the stands is available. We will not perform so it is NOT required but we would love to have the guard there to show our school and band spirit!
Fees for fall colorguard are $85

Cost: $10.00 per Semester
