Arrival & Dismissal Spring Update
- Spring brings more walkers and bikers - please be alert!
- Dismissal will return to our regular 3:35 time for car riders this week! As a reminder, we began dismissal of car riders up to 5 mins. early in winter months to account for the increased number of car riders. Spring is here, so we are back to our regular dismissal procedures! Thank you to everyone for your patience during the long winter months.
- Orwell is not a drop/off pick-up location. There is NO school supervision there. Recent reports from homeowners indicate some congestion and safety concerns there. With more walkers and bikers, our official school car line should be shorter, please take advantage of this safe drop-off, pick-up.

Covid Mitigation Updates
Our transition to masks recommended has gone very smoothly. We are pleased to see that the positivity rates in our schools have remained low.
In the fourth quarter, we will be able to resume group seating and work to allow for increased student collaboration in classes and maintain 3 feet. On April 11th, if positivity rates are still low, we will reduce lunch seating to allow the students seated in the hallway to return to the MPR. We are "Better Together!"
We are able to welcome volunteers back into the school around students. We are able to plan evening events and field trips! You can imagine the excitement as we plan for a fun-filled fourth quarter. Be sure to note all the special events listed above and stay tuned to your emails for volunteer opportunities.

Teacher Appreciation Week is Coming Soon!
Communities across the country have set aside the first week in May to shower their teachers with well deserved thanks. As a school, we are collecting a voluntary donation for classroom teachers, support teachers and aides to help purchase a token of thanks presented to them during Teacher Appreciation Week. Money donated will be collected and gift cards will be purchased for teachers and support staff.
A $10 donation per child is suggested. You can customize your dollar amount as well. Please use the link below to make your donation through MemberHub by April 28th. Again, this is voluntary so donations are optional. Thank you for supporting the Patterson staff!

Nominate a Staff Member for the A+ Award!
A+ Award
In 2014, the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation teamed up with District 204 and sponsor Wells Fargo Advisors to recognize the positive impact of educators. New to the program this year, one staff member from each of the elementary, middle and high school levels will be recognized each month.
You can watch previous surprise award presentations at A+ Award videos. A complete list of previous winners is online at A+ Award recipients.
Nomination Criteria
- We welcome nominations from parents, alumni and community members, and strongly encourage students to submit nominations as well. A+ Award Nominations must include an essay (of 50-500 words) describing how this staff member has positively impacted students. District 204 staff members are not eligible to submit nominations.
- Nominations are rolling. All nominations submitted will be kept for consideration until the end of the current school year.
- Nominees must be currently employed by District 204.
- Nominations will be shared with those you nominate.
