A Pup-date from Mrs. Mahoney

And Assistant Counselor Hank/January 2016

National School Counseling Week - February 1-5

This is my favorite time of year! I get to celebrate the outstanding field of school counseling AND say my blessings for the wonderful staff, students and families that I have worked with for the past 15 years at Randolph.

This year, I'd like to spotlight the importance of going to college. All students kindergarten through 5th grade have lessons during classroom guidance on college and careers. It's never too soon to start the conversation!

To demonstrate our passion about education, there will be a bulletin board in the main hallway (across from my room #113) that will show how highly educated our Randolph staff is. Stop in during NSC Week and see where our staff received their higher education!

Now, let's get the students involved! On Wednesday, Feb. 3rd ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF are invited to come to school wearing the outfit that depicts what they'd like to be "when they grow up". I have mine ready to go!

Randolph Student Council Canned Food Drive

The Randolph Student Council is planning a food drive for the week of Feb. 8-12. This is the week of parent/teacher conferences. Start saving those non-perishable food and pantry items for the big drive!

Next Box Tops Deadline Coming Up!

March 1st is the next deadline for the Box Tops to be sent in to General Mills. Help PTA get a big fat check in May by sending in those Box Tops ASAP!

Still Looking for Fund-a-Need Donors!

We'd love it if you check out the following link: http://flps.fund-it.org/grants/searchResults.php

This link will take you to the LPS Foundation website where you can see the three Randolph grant proposals that would pay for yearbooks for our current 5th graders. This is a costly endeavor that PTA has paid for in years past. Let's help fund this project to allow our 5th graders to ALL take their memories with them as they graduate from elementary school. Any donation amount is welcome!

Do you know someone who would make a great Team Mate mentor?

We are always in need of Team Mate mentors who can give one hour of time a week when they are matched with a Randolph 3rd, 4th or 5th grader. Male mentors are especially important to us! To find out more...click the link below or see Mrs. Mahoney at Randolph!
