The Teacher of the Year Winner

Grace here with 'The Teacher of the Year' award winner, Mrs. Marcus! Today I'm going to ask her some questions about the award.

Q1: So, Mrs. Marcus, how does it feel to have this award?

Mrs. Marcus: It feels great and all, but it isn't that amusing to me.

Q2: What do you mean by that?

Mrs. Marcus: I don't want to be famous. I'm a teacher not a model, I enjoy the attention but, I need to be able to go to work without getting stopped by news reporters.

Q3: I get what you're saying, but in what way is it amusing to you?

Mrs. Marcus: It's just amazing knowing that all those years of college have paid off. My wonderful kids through all the years of teaching had made this an amazing experience.

Q4: Good, I've heard recently that you also teach kids poetry. Is this rumor true?

Mrs. Marcus: Why yes it is! We take some tome out of the day to write in poetry books that I gave them.

Q5: How did you feel when you were told that you won?

Mrs. Marcus: It's hard to explain, but all I can say is that it was just an honor to be nominated.

Q6: How has teaching impacted your life?

Mrs. Marcus: That would take a long time to explain, but to summarize it it has been an incredible journey and I can't wait to see what happens in the future.

Q7: Why did you choose teaching?

Mrs. Marcus: Well, I wanted to help because it makes me feel good that I'm helping people.

Q8: Who impacted your life, who made you want to teach?

Mrs. Marcus: Probably my professor at college. He showed and taught me the upsides of teaching.

Q9: How have your students changed your life?

Mrs. Marcus: From all the students that have through my life, they've all made me look at things in a different way.

Q10: Finally, who in your class has made a difference so far?
Mrs. Marcus: All of them, they all have made me laugh when I was sad. I'll always cherish those moments.

"Every Soul a Star" Book Review

Every Soul a Star by Wendy Mass

"Every Soul a Star" is an incredible story about 3 friends who go on a remarkable adventure at a camping site called "Moon Shadow" during the solar eclipse.

Ally is the first character that you read about. She's a curious young woman who loves astronomy. Ally has a very interesting back story about a necklace that she got from her grandpa.

Bree and Jack are introduced almost at the same time. Bree is a spoiled, she wants to be a model someday (so she basically acts like a model would act). Jack is a shy guy who went to Moon Shadow to get extra credit for science.

This is a great book and I would give it a 5 star rating and recommend it for all readers.
