School Spotlight
Artist of the Week This week's artist is RNHS junior Hillary Kramer. In Crafts class, students designed and created a papier mache cupcakes. They were encouraged to use lots of detail. Students in Mrs. Fontecchio's other art classes voted for their favorite designs. Hillary earned second place with 36 total participants in this friendly competition. Congratulations Hillary!! | | Human Rights Conference Eight RNHS 10th graders attended the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center's Leadership Conference at Iona University. Students learned about Fanny Lou Hamer and voting rights and had the chance to attend workshops on human rights violations such as human trafficking, immigration US voting rights, clean water scarcity, genocides, and censorship. The day concluded with a presentation from Michael Gyory who spoke about his relative Anges Keleti, a Holocaust survivor and the world's oldest Olympic champion. |

In Case You Missed It
Announcements:
- New student ID cards were distributed in homeroom on Monday. Students should be wearing their IDs so they are visible. Students are choosing to wear their IDs around their neck, by their waist or on their bookbag. If you choose to wear it on your bookbag, please remember to take it with you when you leave the restroom. If your ID card is not visible when you enter the building, staff will ask students to show us their ID card. If you forget your ID card at home on any given day, please stop by the main office and see Mrs. Oddo. She will issue you a temporary ID (lanyard or sticker). If you take the temporary ID on the lanyard, you will be asked to leave a personal item. This item will be returned to you when you return the pass at the end of the day. it is not visible, you will need to show your ID card to gain entry into the building.

Student Environmental Council Shoe Drive through 3/31
The League of Women Voters of Rye, Rye Brook and Port Chester Student Civic Achievement Award for high school juniors. The award is $1,000.000 and the application deadline is 5/15/23.
Alexis Friedman's Fundraising Efforts: Doctors Without Borders, a medical organization currently deployed in Turkey and Syria, is administering aid to civilians in the aftermath of the February 6 earthquakes.
