October 11, 2016 - Resident Educator Task Force, 4:30pm- 6:00pm

Join this group of Resident Educator Coordinators and Lead Mentors to discuss, share and reflect on district Resident Educator programs. Keep up to date on current state information and design district collaborative efforts to meet the needs of Resident Educators and Mentors.

October 12, 2016 - Engagement and Inquiry with STEM Grades 5 & 6 (8:30am-3:30pm)

Instructors-Bob Claymier and Cindy Miller


Bob Claymier, STEM is Elementary founder, will be presenting grade-level engineering teaching methods that incorporate into Ohio’s standards. Participants will explore hands-on activities along with strategies to create integrated engineering lessons based on the curriculum. Wouldn’t it be great if students were the ones asking questions about the content? Capture a student’s attention for an inquiry-based study. Cindy Miller will lead an exploration into lessons, activities, websites and resources to use in conjunction with Bob’s work.

October 12, 2016 - PBIS in the Classroom (8:30am-3:30pm)

This one-day training session brings the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework into the classroom environment. Areas of focus will include: classroom vision organizing routines and procedures, teaching expectations, developing motivational systems, monitoring student behavior, and responding to and correcting misbehavior. October 17, 2016 - Curriculum Council (8:30am - 11:30am)

Join this collaborative of Curriculum Directors to discuss, share, and reflect on current educational practices in curriculum, instruction and assessment. Explore leadership topics and gain ideas from other district leaders!

October 18, 2016- School Counselor Evaluation Training (8:30am-3:30pm)

This one-day session is required for all evaluators of school counselors. It is highly recommended that the evaluator and school counselor attend this session together.

October 18, 2016 - Year 2 Resident Educator Webinar - Preparing for RESA (4:30pm-5:30pm)

Year 2 Resident Educators and Mentors, join this webinar for information on the Formative and Summative Assessment task of the RESA (Resident Educator Summative Assessment) that is required in Year 3 of Ohio's Resident Educator program. You will explore the tasks, rubrics and tools available on the OhioRESA and Ohio Department of Education Websites. Learn the types of supports to expect from your district in Year 3.

October 20, 2016 - Initial Cluster Training Day 2 (8:30am-3:30pm)

Differentiated Curriculum/Readiness Training

  • Become knowledgeable about the effective use of contracts and anchor activities to extend student learning
  • Using Ohio’s New Learning Standards, learn how to differentiate curriculum content lessons/units so the learning needs of the gifted and other students are met
  • Review commercially developed curriculum materials for the gifted
  • Develop differentiated lessons for use in the classroom

October 24, 2016 Learning for Leadership Series-Session 2 Leading with Data (8:30am-11:30am)

Attend session 2 of the Learning for Leadership Series, Leading with Data. Joe Daniels, Assistant Superintendent of Maysville Local and Mike Masloski, Superintendent of Ridgewood Local Schools will share ways to use data to guide discussions and decision making with district and building leadership teams.
