Arcado's School Newsletter- October 2020
Greetings from Ms. Young!
Every School Has A Story. Welcome to Ours.
I think we can all say that this year has been most eventful. Every year we create and write a school year story that has lasting memories for us all. The school house is a special place to be! The administration has been brainstorming ideas of how to add warmth to our school building.
We invite you to join us in writing our school year story. Our digital and in-person teachers and staff have built strong relationships with the students and you, the parents. They are working tirelessly to build lessons that are engaging and make learning memorable for your children.
Our Staff Inspires Our Story. Our Students Inspire Our Story.
We have created two bulletin boards right outside the front office where we want to add special notes to our staff. If you or your child has had a positive experience with a staff member we invite you to send us that information.
Below is a link to a form you can fill out. We will take that note and put it on our special bulletin board, Our Staff Inspires Our Story. Throughout the year, we will share the special notes with our school community.
In addition, our staff is invited to share their positive experiences with their students. Next to our staff bulletin board will be one that says, Our Students Inspire Our Story.
We will collect special memories along the way and celebrate the special memories we are making at Arcado.

Chick-fil-A Drive Thru Spirit Night
Mark Your Calendar!
This year our spirit nights are the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Due to the pandemic, we cannot host a spirit night inside of the restaurant. Make plans to drive thru, tell the employee you are attending Arcado Spirit Night, and enjoy your dinner at home, in the car, or at the park. We get 20% profit from this night.
November 10 is our next Drive Thru Spirit Night!!!
AKS at HOME
As part of Gwinnett County Public Schools’ family engagement initiative, the school district seeks to empower parents with tools that allow them to help their children at home. Our AKS at Home project provides math and language arts resources to support families so that they truly are partners in their children’s learning. This support is available for families to access in the format that fits them and their schedule best. They can attend live virtual meetings, view recorded information at a time that best fits their schedule, or gain tips and suggestions on how to best help their students through tip sheets on a wide variety of topics.
ParentVUE Mobile App – Now Available
The Synergy Parent mobile app, ParentVUE, is now available for use. The app is available in the Apple App Store, as well as the Google Play Store. It allows parents, who have a parent portal account, to view schedules, grades, see when assignments are due, view graduation requirements, find missing assignments, and view other important student information. An active parent portal account is required to log in to ParentVUE.
