Knightly Update September 6, 2020
Edition Vol 9 Issue 7
Good morning. I hope you are enjoying the Labor Day Weekend. Due to the Labor Day holiday, school will not be held tomorrow, Monday, September 7. Enjoy the day!
Mid-quarter grades were posted on Friday. Please ensure you take a few minutes to review your child's academic progress via the Infinite Campus Portal. If you have any questions, please reach out to the appropriate instructor. I had an opportunity to review student grades last week, and I was pleased with what I saw. The academic progress is a testament to the effort our students are putting forth while engaged in a virtual environment. Keep up the good work, Knights. If a student is disappointed or concerned with a grade, they should reach out to their instructor to learn the steps to consider as we head into the second half of the quarter. I thank our teachers for the work they put forth each and every day preparing lessons and working with our students. They are doing an amazing job and I appreciate them all.
As you are aware, the Governing Board approved for all secondary students (grades 7-12) to return to full in-person instruction on October 13 (the start of the second quarter). We will be sending additional information in the upcoming weeks sharing the steps that we are taking to provide the safest learning environment for our students and staff. We are excited to have our students back on campus and look forward to welcoming them in a few weeks.
Have a very nice and relaxing Labor Day. As always, if you have any questions, please contact me. Enjoy your week, and Go KNIGHTS!!

Advanced Placement Exams Payment Information
As you prepare to pay for this year's AP exams, please pay for AP exams through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. In addition, please note that this year AP Exam Fees will no longer be tax deductible.
Reasons for change:
- Giving the uncertainties of the 2020-21 school year, some students may feel unsure about taking AP Exams in May. So that students feel comfortable registering by the fall deadline, this year there will be no fees whatsoever if a student decides not to test or cancel their exams. Every AP student should keep their options open by registering for the exam on time because there will still be a $40 fee for late orders.
- Last year, several families utilized tax credit dollars to pay for AP exams.
- Qualifying tax-credit fee payments are not refundable. As a result, of last year's unusual circumstances (i.e., changes in AP Testing, refund process, etc.) we were not allowed to offer full refunds to our families. This was a benefit we offered for several years.
- Solution: Since these qualifying tax-credit fee payments are non-refundable, we do not want to place our families in this difficult position. As a result, AP payments will not be listed as a tax-deductible item. This will allow families that decide not to take the AP exam a more efficient refund process in the event a student chooses to cancel an exam.
Please contact Mr. Vezzosi for questions regarding AP Exams you have selected at (480) 424-8080. If you have questions regarding payments or paying with tax credit options, please email Mrs. Arceo or call (480) 424-8014.
In addition, please make sure that you are aware of the following information and deadlines below.
- August 19, 2020 - Begin making payments for AP test(s)
- October 26, 2020 - All AP exam payments due ($95.00 per test)
As a reminder, If you are a student in an AP class, you should have already received your class-specific join codes, joined your AP Classroom, and created an AP account. Remember, students that already have AP accounts (most sophomores-seniors) should utilize the same account information from previous years. Teachers have posted AP information in their CLASS STREAM or ANNOUNCEMENT SECTION of the Google Classrooms.
If you are a continuing AP student, please use the account that you have previously created to access AP classroom and register for test(s). If you taking AP Government or AP Economics second semester, you will register in January. Please visit our ACP Counseling website for more information. If you have questions, reach out to your teacher or Dr. Vezzosi.
