#ChasingGreatness
Taken from last week's newletter
I pulled the bottom excerpt from last week's newsletter, but I strongly believe in this reflective process. We continue to build momentum within the school in a lot of different ways and striving for continuous improvement based on support for one another, how we as individuals impact the HiRMS climate, culture of our school community, and ultimately how student learning is impacted. These will no doubt allow us to not only continue the strong history of success but continue to work toward being the best darn middle school in the state of North Carolina.
We cannot go back and change was has already happened - we can only move forward. So, my question for you is this - What does your move forward look like for the remainder of the school year? For me, it is a multitude of things that includes, but is not limited to, 1) continue to be supportive of our students and work family as much as humanly possible, 2) be positive and kind, 3) work in a people first, yet result-oriented, self-less manner, 4) remember to breathe, 5) try to obtain more work/life balance, 5) celebrate, celebrate, celebrate success of those around us, 6) lift each other up, and 7) continue loving doing what I do each and every day!
Grade Level Meetings Next Week
Media Center Update
Here are the procedures that were communicated in Grade Level:
1. 2 10 Minute Blocks (3:30-3:40 & 3:40-3:50pm) to send up to 2 minutes at a time
2. Can't send students after 3:50pm and be mindful of the last few minutes of the 10 minute block
3. Must use the Blue Passes that were placed in the box - time in and time out will be recorded
District Audit Results
We did well overall, but we had about a handful of doors that were left unlocked. A simple rule to live by: if you have a door, it must be locked at all times - it can be opened while you are in there, but it should be locked at all times and closed if you leave the room at any time. We may possibly be on a schedule to reassess if we continue to have doors left unlocked.
Important Reminders:
1. Outside doors/gates should never be propped open - if you see one open, it is your responsibility to do something and to not leave it for someone else to mind.
2. All interior doors must be locked at all times - classroom doors may be open if occupied, but should still remain locked. If you leave your class, it must be closed behind you.
3. ID badges must be worn at all times.

Need CEU's? A message from HR
If staff members are looking for ideas for getting credits for their licensure, we have a place on the HR website that they can go to for ideas.
On the HR licensure page, underneath the table of credits is a link “if I am short on credits where can I go?”
When they click on this link we have a working document with ideas of free resources.
The direct link to this page is: https://www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/Page/75192 if you want to share it with anyone.
Also, be sure to check periodically your licensure status and the amount that you need for renewal.

Huge shout-out Melissa Cirino for rolling out benchmark 2 - speaking from personal experience, this is no easy task.
