Boys Basketball Result

The Halcyon boys' basketball team won a thrilling match vs ICS on Wednesday evening. The score was 33-24. Kieran and Nate showed excellent rebounding skills while Andrew and Chris controlled the tempo of the game well.

Congratulations to the whole squad for their achievement!

All students who will be running for an elected position should please meet Ms Fritz in the lab at break time today. We will review campaign regulations and the arrangements for the candidate speeches on Friday 12 December.

At lunchtime on Thursday 4th December, Professor Matthew Fisher from Imperial College London will be coming to speak to Halcyon about his charity 'Save the Frogs.' in the Hub. Amphibian extinctions are happening worldwide due to infections. Please come along!

Students should show off their knowledge of current issues through entering The Day's 2014 Mega Quiz! Students will have the chance to win a fabulous book bundle for the library.

Hi' I'm Ethan Reich. I'm in 9th grade and I'm running for school president. I think I'm a good candidate because I'm involved in extra curricular activities that make me a good diplomat like model United Nations and the global issues network. Taster Day Student: Friday 5 December

Christmas Jumper Day!

Hello everyone! On the 12th of December, it is Christmas Jumper Day! This means that everyone must (if they want to) wear a Christmas jumper and donate at least £1. All the donations will go to the charity ‘Save the Children’. This event is hosted by them but in our school, it is hosted by Daphni in Grade 10. If you have any questions, contact Daphni.

Battery Recycling Box:

Batteries are very dangerous for our environment and they are commonly used by us everyday and it is our job to recycle them. There is a brand new battery recycling box in the science lab, please bring in any used batteries and place them in the box.

Upcoming Bake Sale

Friday, Dec. 5th, 10:30am

Halcyon Canteen

On Friday 5 December, there will be a bake sale at morning break in the canteen. The money raised will go to the World HorseWelfare charity. This charity helps horses that have been neglected by their owners.

PLP Rotation update:

The PLP first rotation comes to an end this week. The next rotation is as follows and effects the following single periods for the following grades:

  • Grade 6 Maths Single lesson
  • Grade 7 Humanities Single Lesson
  • Grade 8 Science Single Lesson
  • Grade 9 English Single Lesson

  • This rotation will run for the last week and a half of this term and then the first seven weeks of next term.

    Halcyon Holiday Committee

    Mrs. Zago is recruiting members for the Halcyon Holiday Committee as part of the AS programme. If you are interested please send her an email with your name, your email address and your grade.

    Reminder - No more football club this term

    We are on winter break. Season 2 will run February - June for boys and girls.

    Grade 9 Drama Trip to Tour National Theatre and Southbank

    Thursday, Dec. 4th, 10:30am-2:45pm

    National Theatre, Upper Ground, London, United Kingdom

    The Grade 9 Students will take a short, informal walking tour of The Royal Festival Hall and Hayward Gallery. The students will then be taking an official back stage tour of the National Theatre, which currently has 4 stages within it's building space.
