Message from Administration

Welcome Back! We are so excited to embark on a new school year. We are grateful that you have chosen to share your child(ren) with us. We have a passion for teaching, and we want our students to have all the opportunities possible when they arrive. Here’s to a fantastic school year!

A few important reminders for the first day and the days following:

FIRST DAY: All families will be allowed to walk their children to class on the FIRST DAY ONLY. We will have staff and WatchDOGS at each of the doors to help welcome our students and families in the closest door possible as we can imagine they will have extra supplies. Parking is open to the first available spot you can find. Please note that if parking in a handicapped parking space, you must have a handicapped tag.

Also, please ensure your child comes to school with their car rider tags attached to their backpacks. If they do not have their tags, we have to research to find their numbers and make new tags before the end of the day. If you do not have a car rider tag, please stop by the office before 10:00 am on Monday. We will issue you a tag for your vehicle and get the backpack tag to the classroom ASAP. This helps us tremendously with dismissal on the first day! If your child is a walker, biker, daycare, or bus rider, we will have the tags available at school on the first day. However, it is critical that your child(ren)’s teacher know how your child(ren) will go home. We do ask that you keep this as consistent as possible. When changes occur often, it can cause confusion for the student and his/her teacher. Thank you in advance for helping us expedite our dismissal process by properly tagging all car riders before they arrive on Monday.

At 7:25, you will be allowed to go straight to the classroom with your child on the FIRST DAY ONLY.

SECOND DAY and all following days: All students will dismiss from inside the building to their appropriate areas: car rider, bus, daycare, walker, and biker. If your Child(ren) is a car rider, they will need to be picked up in the car rider line. We understand in the beginning that the car rider line is long and takes extra time as all staff and students get into the rhythm again for this school year. We also tend to have extra cars in the beginning as some families like to drop off and pick up the first week. We appreciate your patience in this system. We will NO LONGER have back Park and Pickup. These changes are being made to enhance safety. The main entrance will be the entrance for all visitors. For arrival, we will have safety patrol and staff on duty to expedite unloading. PLEASE PULL FORWARD in the line so that we can unload as many cars in the front car rider line space. Thank you for understanding.

We will have safety patrol and staff ready to assist with students that may need extra help finding their way into the building and to their classroom. Just let us know at drop off and we are happy to assist them in getting to their designated morning areas.

Students will enter the building and go the gym areas to wait on their teachers until 7:35a.m. If they are eating breakfast, they will go to the cafeteria upon arrival.

The front door will be locked at 7:50a.m. All students arriving after 7:50am will need their parents to escort them to the front door where they will be buzzed in, parents will walk them in the main office where they will sign in, and then, the student will report to class. Parents will be required to walk students in after 7:50am.

REMINDER: The front office will be closed between 2:30-3:15pm to complete dismissal duties and responsibilities.

The following video is less than 7 minutes long and addresses the safety changes and procedures for this school year.

Change is not always easy and can feel like an inconvenience; however, changes are necessary in keeping your children safe. They are irreplaceable. We love them already and look forward to growing them this year.

Thank you,

Tara Bailey
