Team:
Spring is busy, so make sure you are staying on top of the daily/weekly/monthly deadlines without losing focus of the big picture.
Daily, we must manage our attendance and grade books, communicate with peers and parents, and submit paperwork on time, among other things. There are so many of those daily tasks we can sometimes get wrapped up in ensuring those are taken care of without keeping in mind the big picture: relationships and engagement.
Keep student relationships first! A student who cares about you and knows you care about them will walk miles in whatever conditions you ask them to. A student who "likes" your class will learn more than one who doesn't. That must come before engagement. After that, designing lessons that are relevant to the student and make their brains stretch will lead to an engaged student. Engaged students have better attendance, higher grades, and are generally more successful. So, how can we get all students engaged? Start with the relationship.
I'm proud that I'm a part of a team that is growing daily. Keep up the outstanding work!
