What is identity theft?
Identity theft is a form of stealing someone's identity in which someone pretends to be someone else by assuming that person's identity, usually as a method to gain access to resources or obtain credit and other benefits in that person's name.

Possible victims of identity theft could be anyone so you have to watch out don't put your information out on to the social media because anyone can see you information even when you think they can't.
What are ways to prevent identity theft?
Installing a firewall and virus protection on computers can block hackers from stealing your personal information and financial data stored on the hard drive.
Common in banking and retail, employees and sales associates may ask you to verify personal information.
