Patriot Walks
As an instructional leader, my role is to create a culture of continuous school improvement. At BPES we are a family of educators with unique talent and abilities. My goal is to create a structure that teachers can learn from other teachers as we work together to support our students. This structure is called “Patriot Walks”, within this structure teachers will visit other teachers to learn best practices and reflect on their practices. I will be looking to create a schedule that allows our staff to visit and reflect, but not at the same time. Round 1 will be scheduled on February 20th. We have “locked” Linda Battle to be your sub and the Resource Team will be supporting and covering classrooms. If you did not receive an invite, you may be scheduled for another round. Additionally, if there is an area of your instruction that you need support, please email me and we can include you in later rounds. Thank you for being reflective and honest. Our goal is to create the best instructional culture and I can’t create that culture without you..
Classroom Culture and Intervention
Our parents send us the best the student students they have. Some students have behavior concerns, some academic challenges and many are suffering from trauma. As educators, its our unique opportunity to provide hope, safety, love and support. I'm concerned about the vocabulary that I am hearing around our building. Please see below:
"please come and get this student"... no he/she is your student, love and support them
" this student needs intervention"... you are the intervention teacher, its called differentiation
Remember every time a student leaves your room, you lose the power. We are here to support you, but you have all the tools to be successful.
Have a wonderful week..
